All pieces of jewelry designed by Aethiónema are totally handcrafted with care and precision in our workshop in Patras, Greece. The material we use for our craftmanship is exclusively 925 sterling silver and all pieces are carefully made to last a lifetime. It is therefore important to care for your jewelry to ensure that their beauty will last.
Silver 925 is naturally oxidized when exposed to air in the atmosphere, moisture and surtain substances of our skin. The information below will help you maintain your jewelry in the best posible condition.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you are allergic to silver and want to purchase an item, please contact us at aethionema.jewelry@gmail.com before placing an order to offer you customized plating solutions. This is also advisable if you are taking chronic medication. Certain substances in medicines can accelerate the oxidation of silver jewelry.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR JEWELRY
It is very important that you remove your jewelry before sleeping, exercising, swimming or showering. Due to their delicate nature, all pieces require careful handling.
You should avoid exposure at harsh cemicals, perspiration, perfumes, hair spray, sunscreen products, cleaning agents, chlorine, etc. Repeated or even in some cases one time exposure will tarnish your jewelry.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR JEWELRY
Cleaning your jewelry helps maintain their matural shine longer. You can use a super soft, dry cloth after each wear and carefully remove any make up or skin cream.
HOW TO STORE YOUR JEWELRY
Store your jewelry away from direct exposure to sunlight and heat. Do not store your jewelry in the bathroom or any humid spot. If so, clean them with a soft dry cloth as soon as posible.
The best way to maintain the shine of your jewelry is by storing them in a protective (lined) jewelry box, tarnish-resistant pouch or in a zip lock bag.
It is also recomended to not put your jewelry all together in a storage box. Keep the necklaces seperately so you can avoid tangled chains and possible breakages. It is also recomended for glossy polished items to protect them from scratches and bumps.
